Final Website

I have finished my website for Ed Sheeran, I have kept everything on it very simplistic as that is the theme throughout that we have given him. I made it very simply on a website called 'freewebs', this allowed me to create a proffesional looking website with ease that can be accessed anywhere. I included all unique images as well as links to merchandise, tour info etc. Also I used his star image motif of the shoes but as a nice touch I took a photo of my actual shoes that appear in the music video. This provides a link between the music video and my website. There are also posts on the webpage advertising the new album and Ed Sheeran's Twitter feed. I used the star image motif in my music video of feet by using a photo of the shoes used in the video as the home bar image.

Music Video Evaluation Question 2

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Typography
We made sure to keep the typography the same throughout the ancillary tasks in order to keep them coherent with eachother. I used standard Arial font throughout the digipak, in the writing on the front and also the song names written on the back as well as using the same font at the start of the music video.

Image motifs
We used the image motif of feet to appear throughout the various mediums that we have made, we included close up shots throughout the music video of feet and shoes. This can be seen as the boy puts his shoes on, when they are walking to the train station he looks down, when they walk over the camera as well as various other close up shots of feet and shoes. We experimented with one shot where I attached the camera to my leg and walked down a set of stairs, unfortunately this was too shakey to actually work in the end. There is also a link created between the music video and my ancillary tasks, this can be seen in the banner at the top of my music video, this is a photo of the actual shoes that are in the music video with some editing to make them black and white and also with the name 'Ed Sheeran' on them. I also included a print screen of the music video with the girl's feet on them as the front of the digipak, this creates a clear link between the video and digipak as fans that have seen the music video will be able to make that link.

Use of images
I used images throughout my music video and ancillary tasks, this was to create a link between them. This is why the images that feature on the digipak are all images that I have individually taken from the music video, this allows fans that have seen the music video to notice a link between that and the digipak. I also used the image of the shoes throughout such as in the banner of the website and on the digipak.

Layout Design
The layout of the website is similar to that of the digipak as it uses the simplistic nature of Ed Sheeran's music, I made sure that I kept white space to a minimum when designing the website but not making it too cluttered at the same time, the border looks similar to the laces on the shoes that feature throughout the entire project.

I liked my use of particular shots or images that I used throughout my project, this created a very visual link between them and made it clear that they are all by the same person. The website, digipak and music video fit together well as a whole and all work to one successful piece of media.
